Professional Practice :
Landscape Architects with projects worldwide. My role was principally Architectural based, working on a visitors centre for a large Desert Landscape project in Abu Dhabi, however my role also spilled over into a competition entry for the Nairobi University and the stage C design of the MILAN CITYLIFE project which was won in November 2010.
Aside from the Kenyan Competition entry, all the projects I worked on were helping finalise drawings and presentations to a final Stage C design level. My 3D skills were called on in the development of the visitors centre building and some rendering, as well as much Adobe and AutoCAD work.

A high end residential and interiors architectural firm specializing in luxury development and refurbishment. Projects also include private members clubs and boutique stores. Their project area is focused around Belgravia, Mayfair, Kensington and Chelsea, giving them considerable experience in conservation and re-use of historic buildings, as well as being involved in new build schemes, such as their high profile Manresa Road Development of luxury apartments in Chelsea.
Services also include redevelopment and refurbishment of listed properties in high profile locations such as Pall Mall, Eaton Square, Hans Place etc.
MY ROLE
While at the practice I worked almost exclusively on a new build Pitt Street development - a new build, luxury, one-off residential home for a family of 5. Due to the nature of the project and it's location we were allowed to design and build a modern home in a conservative area which came with it's own set of problems: such as planning permission and neighbourly complaints.
The project was initially commissioned by the developer Hill Spink who required very careful attention to detail and bespoke services for which I would have to draw up the details. I was also involved in the interior design stages of the building which was already on site when I started at Weldon Walshe.
In the initial stages of working for WW I was chiefly involved in the details for the bathrooms, bespoke storage units, display units and desks, and the placing and organising of the plant room for services. My role included the indoor pool details - sourcing and specifying some equipment and liaising with the pool engineer on various aspects. I was in charge of the design, layout and details of the sauna, wine cellar and staff rooms.
Later I was also in charge of the window and stair installations. The windows and doors were individually constructed for the house by a company in Portugal and the stairs from a marine engineering firm. These were totally bespoke and required a lot of liaising with clients, contractors and the suppliers.
I was often taken on client meetings and went to inspect the site frequently with the lead architect.
FURTHER PROJECTS
While at Weldon Walshe I also put together a planning application for the enlargement of a small residence, and helped in the detailing and design for various aspects of more historic buildings, including the interiors of a John Nash building in Carlton House Terrace, off Pall Mall, for which I helped design and research stairs and lifts for a major refurbishment which is still on site.
During my year out I was commissioned by Mr Savage of the Savage Clothing Brand to help come up with concepts and visualisations for his store in the (then) new Westfield Mall in Shepherds Bush. I liaised with the mall designers, the construction engineers and the owner to help bring everything together and the store opened on schedule, to my design.
Also during my year out I was asked to contribute a drawing for a typical Tudor interior for the Heritage Today Magazine. This was published in March 2008.
While attending my Undergradate Degree at Westminster , I worked at Colwyn and Foulkes, putting together a visual package for the new foyer of Sony Music Headquarters, which was going into the former Barkers Department store on Kensington High Street. My role was to help come up with the front entrance foyer at ground level.
